Did you know that an old tradition in the Land of the Rising Sun requires the Japanese to take care of their good fortune by eating mochi in the first days of the new year - one of the Japanese sweet delicacies, symbolizing a long and happy life. When entering a Japanese confectionery, it is impossible not to notice the small, multi-colored, spherical cookies, which in their form slightly resemble marzipan sweets. Sometimes smooth and inconspicuous, other times intricately decorated, rice mochi attract attention and tempt with their unusual appearance. Soft cakes-dumplings made from rice flour or rice itself have an elastic and sticky consistency. They are filled with a sweet filling of bean paste and fruit, coated with kinako soy powder, sesame seeds or green tea powder.
